is an effective form of medical treatment. It promotes natural healing. It can enhance the body’s immune system, support physical and emotional health and improve overall function and well-being. Acupuncture is a safe, painless and effective to treat a variety of problems. Acupuncture has been around for over 4,000 years. The belief of acupuncture lies in the Qi or energy. This is the body’s life force that flows through it.. Qi protects the body from illness, pain and disease. A persons health is influenced by the quality, quantity and balance of Qi. The body has 14 meridians which are each connected to specific organs and glands.. The meridian pathways are like rivers that flow through the body. These rivers provide life giving nourishment to every cell, organ, gland, tissue and muscle in the body. If the flow in the meridian becomes obstructed that life giving Qi becomes blocked and begins to effect the body in a negative way. Different forms of stress on the body such as chemical, emotional, physical and mental stress can cause the Qi to become blocked.
